Source: Top 10 worst insurance companies

This list comes from the American Association for Justice, a “group for trial lawyers whose mission is to promote a fair and effective justice system—and to support the work of attorneys in their efforts to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in America’s courtrooms, even when taking on the most powerful interests.”

So we’re not talking the most neutral source but the report does a good job of explaining the sheer amount of money and recources these companies command. Think they would want to use it in the healthcare reform debate?

Interesting Facts from the report:

  1. U.S. insurance companies take in $1 trillion annually.
  2. Combined assets =$3.8 trillion = more than the GDP of every country on the planet except the U.S. and Japan.
