Fearless Chiro

Several posts on FaceBook have prompted an idea I must write down…

If we were to distill out all the fear motivated belief’s from our much cherished and defended positions…what would be left?  Would it be, as is so eoloquently phrased in the song by Kansas, “dust in the wind”?

Whether it is religious belief, political rhetoric, patriotic fervor and dogma, or even chiropractic “truth”; how much of what we ‘believe’ and therefore defend is really just an intellectual response to fear?

My boys have been raised to the ripe ‘old’ ages of 16, 19, 21 and 23 (and my wife’s three girls as well) with a healthy infusion of…shall I say, an ability to call B.S. when they see it (again, I use the initials B.S. to allude to ‘belief system’, of course I am sure that was your first thought as well).  They were raised initially as I was in a very conservative religious environment, however the difference is that their father (yours truly) deviated from the “truth” and wandered down the path of spiritual conciousness.

I must say I am very pleased with the result.  The conversations around the kitchen counter and dinner table sometimes challenge my long held traditional belief systems, even those intellectually set aside.  What is interesting for me is that the old buttons are still there, and likely will be for quite some time.  The kids don’t seem to have these issues.

They see right through the fog of fear-based belief…at times their opines seem cynical and harsh, yet often with reflection I am humbled by their sophomoric wisdom.  “Out of the mouth of babes” the saying goes.  I smile with warm pride and thankfulness at their journey thus far through life….mostly far removed from the fear baggage that attended the bulk of my journey.

What are you defending today?  Is your “truth” spawned from fear?  Maybe not all of it surely, however have you taken stock?  This New Year of 2012 is well under way, the Mayans predict radical change, some say all will be swept away…as dust in the wind.  What will you have left when you remove the fear and re-connect with your Spirit resonating Source?

Good questions I feel to start this ’new age’….

Namaste and live your life IN-JOY this year,

Perry

As we enter this new year, this is actually a very good question.  Without a clear understanding of a
consciousness long nurtured and conditioned in fear, the planning may indeed be
accomplished and influenced by our fear-mind.

What do I mean by your “fear-mind”?  We are born into this physical reality and
spiritual presence without the baggage of fear.   This must be learned.  And depending on our nurturing team (parents,
caretakers, teachers, pastors, etc.) most of us learn the language of fear very
well.

In fact, as we approach the age of reason and application of
wisdom, a time to chart the direction of our life, we may indeed be severely
crippled with fear.  Our motivation to
set goals and accomplish visions can then become guided by avoidance of pain
rather than the acknowledgement of our spiritual worth.

Therefore it is important to see the distinction of who we
really are, on a conscious spiritual basis, and who we think we are…namely the
identity personality assumed in fear and the residue of unworthiness.

Many people miss this distinction.  Some may arrive at this knowing following a
personal crisis.  Others may achieve
“enlightenment” through gradual and consistent spiritual work.  However arrived, the goal is the place of the
observer.  Seeing our fear which quite
simply allows a quiet observation and a platform of conscious action.

Set your goals and vision from the foundation of the
observer in you.  See where you have a
tendency to react in fear, to choose a course of action in desperation, rather
than calm assurance and worthiness.

It is all in the observation….really no “work” to do.  Just “be” the observer.

Namaste and blessings to all in this New Year,

Yours IN-JOY,

Perry

“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” – Henry David Thoreau

How can I strengthen my sense of worth in a world that values conformity?  Dance with joy your unique dance of life.  Empower yourself with immunity to the burden of guilt you have agreed to for your lack of conformity.

Be a nut!  Be different!  Acknowledge the success that is you and know that not one other person on the planet has your special gifts, opportunities and visions.

The tendency of our fear nature is to doubt our worthiness and compare our self to the other.  Resist the temptation to do this….breathe….move….and meditate.

Move?  What do I mean by this…  One of my greatest teachers was a man by the name of Dr. Mark Rademacher.  He spoke of and encouraged the use of ‘modifiers’.  Some simple, some intense, some in between, the modifier was the intentional use of change.  Taking a risk…whether choosing a different route while driving to work or maybe really intense like changing the direction of your day to day occupation.  This startles and silences the fear-mind, giving you a window of opportunity to separate yourself from conditioned fear and return to your unique and infinitely valued dance in this life.

Be well and DIFFERENT today….

You are worthy!

IN-JOY….
