“It is not necessary to change. Survival is not mandatory.” – Dr. W. Edwards Deming

My wife and I just spent an enjoyable weekend in Montana over the holiday weekend.  The ten-plus hour drive to NW Montana from Seattle gave us plenty of time to re-connect and also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Pacific Northwest embracing spring.

I had just received the audio discs from my recent recording session where I had spent a day and a half in the audio studio reading Soaring Beyond Fear.  As my wife and I listened to the six disc set to check for any editing mistakes, I was reminded of the many concepts and principles recorded in the book.  This experience surprised me in that as I read my own book and then listened to the recording, I was able to “see” it in a way that was unique and new…even for me, the author.

“Life will continue to progress and express itself in the universe, even if humanity chooses to extinguish itself.  Our opportunity is to transform this human experiment into the next phase of spiritual progression.”  Soaring Beyond Fear, p. 274

We returned to Seattle from a wonderful, relaxing weekend in Montana to a city torn by gunfire and senseless death.  This city has been selected as high on the “most livable” cities list many times over the years…yet obviously even Seattle is not immune to the insanity of fear.  My purpose here is not to unnecessarily dwell on or focus upon this expression of unconsciousness, but to remind myself, and all of us for that matter, of the importance of sharing the life consciousness…the opportunity to edge out fear with our presence.

Survival is not mandatory.  The accepted view is that we are the center of the universe and entitled to exist as the human expression of Universal Spirit.  Yet fear has occluded our sense of identity.  So many of the inhabitants of this beautiful world have lost any shred of knowledge as to who they really are.  My goal today is to be an example of who we really are and open to share with those who choose to see.

I choose life today…and yet again reminded why I choose to not read the papers…(most of the time…)

IN-JOY your day!

I normally would not post such a thing, however a patient of mine really wanted to know how to share her excitement concerning nutritional supplements…so I thought I would share this… (specific product names have been edited as I have a monetary interest in these products, however if you would like specifics, please contact me)…How this post relates to fear may be as simple as my ‘fear’ in posting it….

Hello Dr. Chinn,

I would like to request for a few sentences re: the benefits of (product name deleted) for Chiropractors in their practice.

( I do not have the books that I bought from you.)  I would like to give  Chiropractors a small bottle to (product name deleted), a brochure  and a statement from you to share this information with them.

Thank you for your support.

Best Regards,

Agnes ******

Agnes,

I typically will begin the conversation with a chiropractor by finding out how much he/she currently utilizes nutrition in their practice.  If already incorporating a nutritional protocol, they will likely be familiar with nitric oxide, and of course antioxidants, and maybe even the importance of how the two work together to help and facilitate connective tissue repair, including the intervertebral disc, or IVD.  If they do not incorporate much if any nutrition, then perhaps the following will stimulate a little interest.

When a person subluxates (the term we use for how the back “goes out”) the disc material must necessarily be weakened to allow this.  One of the challenges we chiropractors face is the inability of the correction to “hold” or sustain its optimal function and mobility (or integrity of tissue).  The support nutritionally of the nitric oxide pathway not only significantly improves micro-circulation to the disc (good to remind the doctor that the IVD is very unique in that it is a tissue that might have as much as 20 mm distance between a capillary and the connective tissue cell it serves), it tremendously improves the nutrition of the healing tissue (of course this being one of the results of improved circulation).

We know that nitric oxide is important.  What is typically not fully understood is the importance of minimizing oxidative stress (free radical scavenging and cellular damage) to reduce the immediate “gobbling up”, if you will, of what nitric oxide is able to be produced.

So supplying the patient with a specific chiropractic adjustment, then providing highly targeted and effective nutrition to the vertebral motor unit and supporting tissues with the Triangle of Health…is invaluable.

What I haven’t talked about specifically is how the (deleted) fits into this.  My recent reading and literature review is showing the vast importance of providing the proper mix or blend (ratio) of Omega 3 fatty acids to Omega 6.  The ability of a cell to receive nutrition is highly dependent of permeability of the cellular membrane, and it’s “intelligence” or discernment of what it allows in and when.  This ability is largely determined by the mix of fatty acids in the cellular wall matrix.  The American diet, indeed the diet of the vast majority of the
industrialized world, has transitioned into a highly processed diet highly concentrated in Omega 6′s at the expense of Omega 3′s.  What this does is create a cell membrane that is more rigid, less permeable and basically, less friendly to good nutrition.

So…trying to make this as concise as possible….the prudent doctor will provide his patient with very specific adjustments, then enhance this adjustment, increase vastly its effectiveness by providing effective nutrition.  And the best I have found (until I create a protocol that is even better, and this will take a while as I don’t have the deep pockets of our friends in Idaho Falls) is represented in the Triangle of Health by (deleted for this post).

Please invite them to contact me at any time.  I am here to serve, my good friend Dan is modeling this very well for me.

Also, please invite all the D.C.’s you contact to attend my Continuing Education event on Saturday, June 2 from 8 am to 5 pm.  Very valuable information on specific adjusting and the relevant nutrition (though in this setting I cannot specifically mention the (deleted for this post) product names…) for very powerful practice integrations of services.  Please use
attached flyer and re-print as needed.  I want to get some more docs committed to being there ASAP.

I appreciate your help on this….

In service,

Dr. Perry Chinn

Many of our patients sincerely want to assist us in “getting the word out”…..do we hold onto any traces of fear that might interfere with an opportunity to share what we know?

IN-JOY your day!

We humans have a tendency for the ‘silver bullet’ approach, the “just give me the quick fix” method of achieving goals and results.  As a black or white person myself, I completely understand this.  My impatience often makes it challenging to allow the principle of time to do it’s work.

Robert Collier is quoted as saying “Success is the result of small efforts — repeated day in and day out.”

As a nutritional product formulator I see this weakness of human resolve on a daily basis.  “Don’t tell me I need to eat better, just give me a product that will give me the results I want and allow the lifestyle that feels good at the time!”  Discipline in diet, exercise, or chiropractic — really anything that produces a result of real value, produces quality in body, spirit and mind.

Balance is the ability to design our daily actions to create the results we desire a fragment at a time.  Whether it is designing the optimal physique, the perfect practice, the relationship of our dreams…the most effective technique is to love yourself enough to allow it in to being…with balance, in its own time.

This of course conflicts with the accepted method of ‘success’.  Action motivated by fear and lack rather than the balanced, allowing action of Spirit.

My goal today is to allow balance rather than pursue need for a quick fix.  Good therapy for my impatient fear-mind.

IN-JOY your day!
