Hey, this is a new twist!! With all this talk about hCG “fixing” the hypothalamus gland, this is a new one on me!
Someone asked me if hCG has a ‘negative effect” on the pituitary gland. Not sure where this is stemming from, no pun intended… but with all the questions I have been asked over the past 4 years about hCG and dieting… it’s actually refreshing when someone comes up with a new one!
So let’s rationally think this through……. we know hCG has a positive effect on the hypothalamus gland. . . and the hypothalamus “signals’ the pituitary gland to function efficiently…. so doesn’t it stand to reason that it would ‘help’ the function of both?
If you’re offering hCG Dieting in your clinic….. expect to get unexpected questions like this one. Be ready with your answer!

Hi Beth,
How do we “know know hCG has a positive effect on the hypothalamus gland?” I see all the websites touting this, but I have not seen any research or standardized text linking these two. Thanks for your help.

There’s a lot of hype on the internet in regard to hcg “fixing things” and ‘curing things’. Those are completely bogus statements, so don’t believe a word of them.

You haven’t seen research to back it up because what I see are website of people trying to sell hcg drops. They are not of a medical background and have not a clue even what they are writing. The practitioners we training get a full course on how the hypothalamus affects weight and the other things it affects that have been scientifically proven well before all this hcg diet popped up again. there are a lot of positive studies also using hcg specifically for weight and fat reduction that have been done. The media would rather promote the diet as illegal. Give their readers controversy.

I have found lots of research about studies of hCG on the hypothalamus, and every endocrinologist knows it works as a precursor to testosterone and estrogen if used in large enough doses. Unfortunately, WEBBERS are generally the ones with HCG websites and have no medical or background knowledge of anything about hcg… just how much they can sell it for.

Hi – I have had a tumor in the pituitary glad and was wondering about hcgs affects. Thank you for your information and if you have any thing else you think I may need to know about its effect on the pituitary I would appreciate it. Thank you again.

A pituitary tumor should be addressed by an endocrinologist to make a decision if and when it should be removed. Tumors of this nature stimulate cortisol, which makes people fat.
