Where in the world did the ‘rumor’ start that the HCG Diet makes your body think it is pregnant…?
WOW! This reminds me of the game we played in kindergarten.. someone said something and passed it down the line to each other and by the time it reached the other end…. the story was no where close to being what was said….
Of all of the things I have heard people say when trying to explain the concept of the HCG Diet, like dangers of the hcg diet … this one is one of the most FAR FETCHED things I have EVER heard…
OK, let’s go back to some VERY basics about the HCG Diet….. before the media and the Doctors I see in the news make an even further mess of trying to explain it!
The extremely SMALL amount of hCG injections and/or the homeopathic hCG work to better balance the malfunction of the hypothalamus. When the reduced fat, low protein diet is used in conjunction with the hCG injections or hCG homeopathic, a person is JUST on the verge of protein deficiency. This in turn signals the body to tap into the abnormal fat reserves that are there to keep us alive in a “starvation” situation… now that the hypothalamus is being ‘nudged’ just a bit to function more normally, while on the HCG Diet, the body begins and continues to utilize the fat reserves to maintain “survival’… and does it very nicely, I might add.
THAT’S the reason people lose all the fat they can’t get rid of otherwise…
For goodness sakes, the HCG Diet does MANY things, but DOES NOT TRICK YOUR BODY INTO THINKING IT’S PREGNANT… I have heard this on the news recently, in addition to the statement that the ‘HCG Diet stimulates a woman’s ovaries to make estrogen’. That right there tells me they have no idea what the guidelines are of this diet are. There is not enough hCG administered to stimulate the ovaries. THAT’S THE POINT of IT!.. it’s NOT being used as a pre-cursor to hormones.
… for goodness sakes.. where in the world is all this BAD information coming from!!
The media and Dr. OZ need to read up on the actions of this diet because he did not deny the comment about it stimulating a woman’s ovaries to make more estrogen… Get with it Dr. Oz!!

A lot of people are concerned with the safety and efficacy of the HCG Diet after Cancer, and I get that question a lot. In regard to anything outside the “norm” for you, its always the best policy to consult with your treating oncologist for approval or disapproval. Thanks so much for your question, I think it will help a lot of people who have experienced cancer and may have the same question.

I see no reason you couldn’t take in in regard to the hcg diet, however, your oncologist would be the one to consult with to get the final word.

I have questions about the diet similar to most. I finally decided to do my own “study,” complete with daily charts, data, journals, photos, and so on. I even keep a running calculation of projected loss given my caloric intake, age, weight, and activities, versus actual scale loss. Thus far, I’ve lost 13.4 lbs when I should have only lost 3.5 lbs. Maybe it’s the HCG, maybe it’s not. But if it’s not HCG, then what is it?

Any cancer patient would want to get the approval of their oncologist.
